EUROPAN 2012 Location: Aigle, Switzerland. Description: Dislodged new centre. The rules that guide new urban developments modify the traditional uses of public and private space leaving the city centers empty and abandoned. Our proposal focuses on returning such uses to the town centre and creating a dynamic and modulated system which revives life both social and economically. The proposal composes of a series of buildings that move and change the urban configuration of the main squares. These buildings are specifically designed to construct diverse spaces and expand or contract in order to adapt to the different seasons of the year.
